SpiceJet has withdrawn all its 5 services from Belagavi(IXG) from May 14 and diverted it to Hubballi as it was allotted to the operator under RCS UDAN scheme. But now time has come for citizens of Belagavi to Rise and along with the #SaveIXG Social media campaign which gaining ground day after day, its no time to send emails to the concerned.

Hon. Minister Sir,
We all believe in developed India, but it should be impartial, UDAN scheme no doubt is a boon to our country aviation Industry will connect many city, But Belgavi became rather the victim of it now favouring Hubli Airport with UDAN and ,we citizens of Belgavi do not deserve to be aam nagrik , besides paying full fare as of today for air services.
This is in connection with the termination of flight services of Spicejet at Belagavi Airport from May 2018. Spicejet is moving all FIVE flights from Belagavi to Hubballi in the month of May. The main reason being the UDAN scheme which is launched by the government. Hubballi airport is designated as one of the hubs under this scheme.
It was shocking to note that even though the load factor ( Ref Attachment) on all the flights of Spicejet from Belagavi was over 70% to 90% we do not see any reason for this move. The business of the whole industrial, trading and educational community is in a limbo and uncertain due to this sudden decision taken by Spicejet. Besides Belgaum is the hub of aerospace Manufacturing with first SEZ Aequs from Airbus, Boeing to Chandrayan Belgaum has contributed to all and being now deprived of air service is lot unfair.
Belagavi is the 2nd largest tax payer city in Karnataka and one of the largest industrial hubs for Aerospace, Foundry, Hydraulics, Auto components, Crank Shafts, Education and above all Défense services Army Airforce ITBP & CRPF base here. All these sectors will be badly affected if air services are terminated from Belagavi.
We request you to please intervene in the matter along with Spicejet Chairman Ajai Singh and request you to please resolve this situation and #SaveIXG.
There is a provision under UDAN where the operator can opt and request to government to remain in service from airport of choice which is underserved , may be it was deliberate attempt to keep Belagavi out of UDAN Belagum is oldest airport in region sir contributed for Goa liberation and is an historical airport please keep the service on and bring it under RCS 3 UDAN asking spice jet to retain or please make alternate arrangements
