Private Medial Colleges have strengthened Medical Education – Dr. Shamnoor Shiv Shankarappa
The Private Medical Colleges and the Hospital are providing yeomen service in improving the health standards of fellow human beings opined Shri. Shamnoor Shivshankarappa, Minister of Horticulture & APMC, Govt of Karnataka. He was speaking after inaugurating the National Summit on Role of Private Medical Colleges in Strengthening the Medical Education and Health Care in the Country at Dr. B S Jirge Auditorium. The quality of Medical Education imparted in Private Medical Colleges is of highest standard and Medical Colleges have produced finest of the Medical Scientists he said. He also said over 200 Private Medical Colleges through their Hospitals have provided best of the Medical care and expertise to the ailing community. He also questioned, without these institutions of excellence, who could have taken care of the population. He hailed the contributions of the Private Medical Institutions in alleviating the burden of diseases in the country. He also praised the visionary leadership of Dr. Prabhakar Kore for providing world class medical infrastructure in this part of country.
Speaking on the occasion Chancellor of KLE University, Dr. Prabhakar Kore said, the J N Medical Colleges was the 2nd Private Medical College in the State to establish only after Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He cautioned that, managing a Private Medical College is extremely challenging as we have to match with International Standards in Medical Education. Research & Development are core of Medical Education and the Private Medical Colleges have stood test of the time in ushering high quality Medical Education. The Medical Infrastructures, Laboratory, equipments, instruments, Salary costs are burgeoning, hence it is difficult to manage institutions said Dr. Kore. Private Medical Colleges through their Hospitals have brought in positive change in Health structure of the country. The Health scenarios of the population in the domains of Private Colleges is definite indicator of impact of the quality medical care provided by private medical colleges said Dr. Kore. He also analyzed migration of people in search of higher Medical treatment to Metro city has come down due to the fact that, Private Medical colleges provide Super-Specialty treatment at the door steps of the people.
Dr. Rajasekhar, Director of KLE Health Sciences Institution highlighted the aims & objective of the program. He also informed that, 205 Private and 182 Govt. Medical Institutions annually create 51,400 Doctors. He also noted that, the community level reach of the Private Medical Colleges is significant in the country. Transparency, Accountability, Good Administration and world class medical infrastructure of the Private Colleges are the hall marks of the Private Institutions opined Dr. Rajasekhar. Eminent Cardiac Surgeon from Fortis Hospital Bangalore and Member of Medical Council Of India, Dr. Vivek Javali was felicitated in the function.
