On May 28 no new cases were reported in the mid-day bulletin however 1313 results were awaited as on Wednesday evening.
Results of around 200 were received yesterday and while 9672 were tested 8146 were negative.
11058 persons have been observed to date and 5104 have completed 28 days of quarantine.
Currently, Belagavi district has 147 COVID-19 positive cases including the 8 from Bagalkote while 94 have been discharged with 52 active cases.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. S.B. Bommanahalli has ordered an inquiry into complaints by some persons isolated in the district designated COVID-19 hospital and other quarantine centers.
A pregnant woman complained to hospital director Vinay Dastikoppa about the food served and threatened to go on a hunger strike as she was vegetarian but was served eggs.
Many others in quarantine have complained that they have been asked to stay over and above the mandated 14 days quarantine period saying swab results have not yet received.
