Few areas in Belgaum tense after clashes
At about 10.30 pm on Wednesday a group of men threw stones at Chavat galli, Shetty galli Topi galli corner, Jalgar galli and Khanjar Galli.

In the stone pelting and rioting 6 motorbikes were set on fire and more than 20 vehicles were damaged. CRPC sec 144 has been imposed in the above mentioned areas.
The exact cause is however not known but police sources believe that the incident is related to the beating up of youth of a particular community in Kelkar bagh earlier in the day.
The situation was brought under control by the police and there is heavy police deployment in those areas.
