Raksha Thandassery a senior Captain of a Boeing 777 fleet who was born and brought up in Belagavi recently summited Mt Kilimanjaro along with her 13-year-old son.
An alumnus of RLS Belagavi Raksha is presently settled in Mumbai as a senior Captain with a leading airline.
On 15th Oct 2022 under the able guidance of LT Col(ret), Romil Barthwal, cofounder of adventure company Boots and Crampons Raksha along with her 13-year-old son successfully summited Mt Kilimanjaro, popularly also known as the roof of Africa.

Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest point in Africa at an altitude of 5895mts/19341ft, which makes it one of the seven summits of the world.
In the month of April this year, she also completed the Everest base camp trek.
Speaking to AAB Raksha said Adventure was always a part of her but due to family and job commitments, she was unable to pursue it.
She has managed to inspire her son, Aarav Thandassery who accompanied her on this endeavor, thereby becoming the youngest mother-son duo to have summited Mt Kilimanjaro successfully, she added.
