145 km Human Chain Set for September 15 in Belagavi District

In honour of International Democracy Day on September 15, a 145 km-long human chain will be formed across the Belagavi district to raise awareness about the importance of India’s democracy and constitution. DC Belagavi Mohammad Roshan has instructed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for the successful execution of this massive event.

District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde and Superintendent of Police Dr. Bhima Shankar Guleda inspected the planned route on Friday, September 13. They emphasized the need for the event to run smoothly, ensuring public safety, seamless transportation, and minimal disruption to traffic.

The DC also directed that drinking water and other essential services be provided for students, youth, and members of organizations participating in the event. Superintendent of Police Dr. Bhima Shankar Guleda confirmed that security measures and parking facilities have been arranged along the route.

Chief Executive Officer Rahul Shinde added that proper signage should be installed to guide participants on where to stand and other important details. DC Roshan visited key points along the route, including Yaragatti, Halaki Cross, Inchal Cross, Kardiguddi, Salapura Cross, and Belagavi, providing additional instructions.

The human chain will stretch from Salahalli in Ramadurga Taluk to Kittur in Channamma Taluk.

Date: 15-09-2024 from 9 AM to 11 AM All types of vehicular traffic are prohibited on the below-mentioned routes within Belagavi city limits, Marihal and Hirebagewadi police station limits and they are advised to follow the below-mentioned alternative routes.

1) Vehicular traffic is prohibited on the route joining the National Highway from Karadiguddi village border through Maruti Nagar, as an alternative, vehicles moving from Belagavi to Gokak, Nesargi, Yaragatti, Ramadurg and other areas, are advised to take through the underbridge at Kanakadasa Circle, Kanabargi.

2) Traffic of vehicles coming towards Hirebagewadi Basava Circle from the Bailahongal side is prohibited and they are advised to follow an alternative route through Bailahongal.
