Those shops near Sai Mandir partly on Railways Land

We all know that Government’s work is God’s work and an true example of this is the 48 shops constructed in 2012-13 on the Sai Mandir road Tilakwadi. The same have been kept unutilized and now the railways have marked about 2 feet on the said shops, which according to them will be required for the double laning of the railway lines.

The Railways has marked about 2 feet on the said shops, but the corporation says they wont be demolished and would be auctioned very soon.

It has also come to light that out of the project cost of 53 lakhs with two contractors a sum of Rs. 30 lakhs is still pending.

Shops built near Sai Mandir

This structure has been kept unutilized since it was constructed in 2012-13. It is 2017 now and even now the same is not utilized for reasons unknown. Out of the 48 shops 35 have already been allotted but they haven’t been giving the papers of the same, so the persons can’t come in start their business. It was decided that the shops would be let out on an advance of Rs.50,000 and no rent would have to be paid for the next 5 years. But now they plan to auction the shops but with the railways marking on the shops who will buy or take them o rent is the question.

Some questions that arise to our mind?

The corporation knew part of the land belongs to Railways, but even then built shops
Corporation officials did not know their own land holding and hence encroached

Now will the railways demolish the 2 feet of the shops ?

Will any one be willing to move into a space which is marked for demolition ?

These shops even if not demolished will be very adjacent to the Railway Tracks.

Did you know Belagavi also as IT park without IT ofcourse

Well yes, even tough Belagavi has been lacking quality infrastructure the KSSIDC and its foresight has given Belagavi an IT park way back in 2008-09 at Desur about 15 kms kms from the city towards Khanapur.

In July 2010 we had written Belgaum IT park cum grazing ground and even after 7 years nothing has changed at the Desur IT Park, except that the trees and bushes have grown bigger, concrete roads have some cracks, the boards mentions the Cross road have fallen in some places.
KSSIDC and its foresight has given Belagavi an IT park way back in 2008-09 at Desur on 41 Acres 19 guntas land on Belgaum – Panaji Road (about 1500 Mtrs. off NH4A).

Cattle grazing in the IT park
IT park has roads built in but no takers

42 acres land that has been used for this park has now all the basic amenities required like roads, water tanks etc but No IT companies since 2008.

The IT (Information Technology) park built in Desur which never took off from its basic incubation stage thanks to many reasons will now also hold other small scale industries in 2013. In July 2013, the DC had ordered if other industries want to set shop they should be permitted.

But we arent sure but nothing has moved there even after this and the grazing ground continues to be the same. The Assembly session is been held here, the politicians must take up such issues and take it to a logical conclusion.

IT Park Belagavi at Desur
IT Park Belagavi at Desur
Clear cut laid down roads and naming

The IT fraternity in Belagavi is very small and niche. The BPO sector voice and non voice again is not having huge capacities.
What the IT fraternity really needs is a single complex may be on the outskirts of the city where it will be a one stop solution for them, where they can get leased spaces with good connectivity and power back up.

The Akshay IT park in Hubballi is heart of the city and now is very decently occupied. Similar approach must be taken up and if the IT ministry can set up such a novel project in Belagavi it will also help entrepreneurship and brain drain can be stopped. There are thousands who after their engineering shift base to Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities. Many who have registered offices in Belagavi also operate from other cities due to lack of human resource.

This is a vicious circle, someone will have to stand up and create a startup space for small and medium upcoming entrepreneurs to set shop here and then inturn try and retain the brain drain.

Private Clinics hospitals will remain closed on Friday

Private hospitals, diagnostic centres and clinics will down shutters on Friday(3rd Nov) against the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (Amendment) Act. Even the private clinics and hospitals will remain closed on Friday in Belagavi.

While inpatient services (that is, continued treatment for those who are in hospitals) and ambulance services are expected to continue, out-patient and diagnostics services in medical establishments are likely to be hit.

The strike called by the Karnataka chapter of the IMA will affect all private outpatient medical facilities in Karnataka from 6 am to 6 pm. Only emergency and trauma cases will be attended.
It is unclear how many hospitals and clinics will participate in the strike.

Karnataka Government proposes to bring an amendment to the Act to fix fees to be charged by Private Hospitals and for treatment provided to various diseases and has included a clause to penalise those violating the new rules.
The bill would be tabled at the winter session of the legislature that is scheduled to begin from November 13.
All government hospitals have been asked to prepare for an expected increase in patient load during the day of the strike.

Shahpur Police inspector threatened by MLA

Shahpur Police inspector Javed Mushapiri who has been taking novel and innovative steps to make policing more citizen friendly has been allegedly threatened by a sitting MLA.

Sources say that the MLA threatened that in the next three months he will see where he will be you may be honest but I know how to row you into controversy.

Sources have also confirmed that Mushapiri decided to resign and also met the higher police officials and acquainted them with what has happened.

javed-mushapiri
File photo of Javed Mushapiri when he was acting against errant Autos

The story seems to be very similar like that of the movie Singham where in Jaykant Shikre tries to harass the honest police officer. Some scenes could also be inspired from the same movie, but at the same this is a very dangerous precedent.

If the police can’t work on their own and with political interference at every step, the morale of the officers will certainly come down.

Javed Mushapiri also had spats earlier when he was the Traffic North inspector when he has commenced the drive against errant auto drivers. That time as well the drive was stopped due to political interference and in fact after which the drive was stopped. The auto drivers also later hooted at Mushapiri and said Kya kar lega be tu?

So it is not new that this officer is facing such interference from elected representatives. Citizens must be aware of whom they elect.

Do we want a Jaykant Shikre or we need to protect honest police officers, after all the choice is yours.
